LED Strip 1m 60 RGB LEDs Programmable WS2812B White Background Waterproof (ISP65)
oddWires LED strips are WS2812-based making them fully-compatible with the Adafruit Neopixels library. This strip is one meter long with 60 fully-addressable SMD5050 LEDs. It has white-colored flex PCB and is waterproof (IP65), which will be less visible against light backgrounds. If you want the exact same strip but with a black background, it is available here. We also carry non-waterproof versions of the strip and these are available here and here.
Each strip has a female three pin JST connector for power and data in as well as a 3 pin male connector for output so the strips can be easily chained together. There are also bare leads offering an alternate power connection. Our 5V, three amp power supply is an excellent choice for these one meter strips. And we ship out a USB Connector with every strip making using a LED strip a plug and play operation.
The WS2812 controller uses a single pin for input and a single pin for output. The protocol used is very very timing-specific and can only be controlled by microcontrollers with highly repeatable 100nS timing precision. An Arduino Uno or Mega is fine, with a Mega even better as it has more available memory.
The 60 RGB LEDs on this stip can be controlled individually and can be set to a 24-bit color per pixel. The LEDs are controlled by shift-registers that are chained up down the strip so you can shorten or lengthen the strip. Only 1 digital output pin is required for data. Each LED can be set and will continue to display even when no further input is received.
The strip is made of flexible PCB material and can be cut with wire-cutters, there are cut-lines every 0.65"/1.7cm (1 LED each). Of course, you can also connect strips together to make them longer, just watch how much current you need!
